2. Setting up your environment

To get started with your Ruby and Ruby on Rails journey, you need to install them on your system first.

Installing Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Git, and everything else takes so much time, and it can be extremely frustrating. However, it would be beneficial for you yourself if you could install them on your own. To begin with, install Ruby and Ruby on Rails, follow the instructions from here.

If you've installed Ruby and Rails on your system, give yourself a pat on the back! You did it!

If you're still having problems installing them, we suggest you to use Repl to run Ruby code for the rest of this week.

We strongly recommend you to install Ruby and Ruby on Rails on your own system. Also, we highly recommend you use Linux or Mac OS X.
